πŸŒ…Ryder, of the Rays

Version 0.8 - Updated 02/16

Domain:

Walking Reefs

Characteristics:

fast, poisons the mind, stings the soul

Storyline:

When the meteor fall devastated the Reefs of the world, mermaids of the Shadow tribe rejoiced in the slaughter that followed. They preyed upon the sole survivors and bathed in their remains. Yet one Shadow member, a merman called Ryder of the Rays, took particular interest in the graveyards of corals. It is said that nothing was more fascinating to the warrior than dancing amidst the stingrays with the waves in sight of broken seafloor, until the dazzling light caught him in its snares. It was a radiant pearl of white found amidst the buried reefs that seduced Ryder and stopped him in its flight.

Ryder of the Rays was fascinated by the pearl larger than his deeply veined arm. There was nothing so innocent, so vulnerable to his eyes as the shining bauble. Ryder was obsessed with corrupting it and twisting the pearl to his needs. But the pearl whispered to Ryder to use his newfound powers coming from the meteor fall somewhere else. Together with the pearl he had woken the corals and granted them their own sentient mind. The giants travelled and crushed everything in their path, a deed which Ryder was especially proud of. He wore the pearl around his neck as a sign of mastery until the very day he understood that he had been used.
